I have got round to doing up a couple of charity shop/carboot found picture frames and framing the lighthouse photo (artistically photographed by my dear friend Cat's boyfriend
Olly Pinnock) which I fell in love with when she did a charity sale over a year ago and my word art from
Notonthehighstreet which I got as a birthday present from my lovely friend Marie.
Here's what the frames looked like before I started (I bought one from a local charity shop and one from Lidlington car boot, both for under £3!):
They were both pretty rough already so there was no need for sanding, I just got straight on with the painting (all from my rather massive collection of sample paints, which do come in so useful of crafting projects!):
1st coat....
I'm sure I've said this before, but I'm going to say it again, when looking for second hand frames always look for good groove detailing, these are the ones which look best painted.Second coat in my favourite Liquorish colour:
Then I framed my art and this is where I hung them.....
My word art at the bottom of the stairs...
I loved this position as I think it is a really great message to read everyday and give yourself a reality check and in this position I can and I do.
As for the wonderful light house photo, I put this on the bathroom wall, as I have a bit of a nautical theme going on in there and it fits perfects with it....
I did put some extra tape round the seal at the back of the frame to prevent steam/moisture damage.
Job done! - two lovely new frames up!
