MASTER BEDROOM: Hunt for a sunburst mirror for our bedroom that doesn't cost the earth

Options found so far:

s one is a little dearer but it was so beautiful I just had to add it:

This is the Constellation Mirror from Laura Ashley Home and is currently in their sale at half price and is £100

DECORATIVE ITEMS: Beautiful Items (December 2010)

Just thought that I would add a few stunning home items which I have seen recently and fallen in love will. One day it would be nice to own them but for now I will just admire:

Marrakech Tyre Floor Lamp by Graham & Green

£180.00 so for now I'm dreaming but I honestly can't imagine ever getting bored of this stunning lamp

Another gem from Graham & Green, bring some sunshine back into your life with

this stunning, design classic, sunshine mirror:

Sunburst Wall Mirror by Graham & Green

£245.00 for this one, I am determind to find a cheaper alternative
I will keep you posted of my progress.

Stunning chest of draws from the wonderful Made.com:

 Bourbon Comode by Made.com
Seemingly very good value at just £129.00

Bring a bit of the orient to your home with this stunning cabinet from
John Lewis:

John Lewis Chinese Collection Shari Painted Cabinet, Blue

Again pretty good value for £149.00 and they also do a cream and red version too.

I love this Edland Range from IKEA, but these two are my

favourite pieces and the pieces which I actually want

in our house:

 Edland Linen Cabinet by IKEA

£299.00 currently in store - hoping this one will feature in the January sale!

Edland Dressing Table by IKEA

I'm probably going to get this one first as it is a lot more reasonable at £139.00.

A little disapointingly there isn't officially a stool or mirror which goes with

this dressing table but I found a dressing table mirror in need of a bit of

upcycling at Age Concern in Milton Keynes (I will do a post once I've done it up)

and I'm thinking

I'm just going to go with one of the plain IKEA stool options out of the following:

....though I am torn on which one to go for the patterned one really appeals to me. Any thoughts?

The perfect feature clock for a hallway or above a mantle piece from Graham & Green (who are quickly becoming a favourite interior shop):

LIVING ROOM: Coffee Table Make Over

I found this table in the Age Concern Warehouse in Milton Keynes for £30:

.... it was simply too good a deal to miss. Yes, it's Ikea but its solid wood and begging for a make over.

The Age Concern Warehouse is an absolute Aladdin's Cave of second hand furniture and brick-a-brack, I've honestly lost count of how many gorgeous bargains which I have found there and its now open on Sunday's as well!

They rely on generous donations of items from you, the general public. Donating to Age UK Milton Keynes is a great way to help the environment by re-using goods instead of sending them to landfill sites.
As long as it is not broken, is in a safe and reasonable condition and you think someone else could make good use of it they will accept most items of furniture.

You can get an idea of what sort of stock they have from this link; and they update this listing regularly too, though nothing beats going there for a good rummage.

OK back to the coffee table....

I had been given a bunch of old paint samples by some of our friends which they didn't need any more as they had finished their decorating project. They were all different kinds of cream and stone and light browns, so I decided to empty all the little pots into an old tuppa wear pot and mix well together (free paint whoop whoop). I then proceeded to paint the whole table with 2-3 coats.

I then used the pine coloured wax, borrowed from very nice neighbours, to finish off and seal.

Love this coffee table and love it even more due to the face it only cost me £30!

BATHROOM: Wall Cabinet makeover

So here is our Bathroom Wall Cabinet as it was when we moved in. Orange fake pine and wicker, probably from Argos or alike and generally a bit grotty.

So I got some paint samples from Wickes (50p per pot and I got two) mixed them together to get a lovely beachy blue and painted the whole thing.

Then finished off with some nice, slightly tinted wood wax...

...and ta da! Made a grotty cabinet into one I want to keep on our bathroom wall. And it really does make a huge difference to whole room.
